GLOBAL KA-PALAWAN AWARDS

MECHANICS

1. Who can join?
   Our OFW Kabayans or their family members who can make the official nomination and register their OFW loved one for the chance to win. Except for Palawan Express Pera Padala (PEPP) employees and their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity and affinity; excluding employees of the group of companies PEPP is part of.

OFW Kabayan nominees:

• Male or Female
• Any occupation abroad is welcome to join – nurse, caregiver, truck driver, cashier, janitor, etc.
• Longevity of work: at least 1 year out of the country working to qualify.
• Have a beneficiary claiming their international remittance either through Palawan Pawnshop branches or through the PalawanPay app.
  
  

2. Promo duration
   This promo runs from July 10, 2024 to October 10, 2024.

3. Prize
   The prize is 100,000 pesos each for a total of 10 grand winners. The consolation prize for shortlisted finalists is 10,000 pesos each for a total of 20 bottom finalists. Only OFW Kabayan nominees will be able to win the cash prize. The total amount of prizes to be given away is 1,200,000 pesos.

• Submission of Entries
  STEP 1 – OFWs/Participants may submit their entries in the following ways:
  A: Maaaring magbahagi ng Facebook post ang mga Kabayang OFW gamit ang kanilang litrato na nagpapakita na sila ay nagtatrabaho sa ibang bansa. Pwede rin sila magbahagi ng litrato na nagpapakitang nasa isang sikat na lugar kung saan sila matatagpuan.
  B: Maaaring magbahagi ng Facebook post ang mga kamag-anak ng OFWs dito sa Pilipinas gamit ang litrato na nagpapakita kung saan at ano ang trabaho ng kapamilyang OFW sa ibang bansa.
  C: Maaaring pumunta sa pinaka malapit na Palawan Pawnshop – Palawan Express Pera Padala branch ang mga kamag-anak ng OFWs dito sa Pilipinas para i-scan ang official QR code ng Global Ka-Palawan Awards.
  
  STEP 2 – Para sa mga magpapasa ng entry gamit ang Facebook post, sagutin ang tanong na ito na hindi hihigit sa 2000 words sa caption ng kanilang post: "Anong pinakamakabuluhang nagawa mo bilang isang OFW, o ng kapamilya mong OFW, para sa iyong pamilya?" Kailangang public ang post at gamit ang official hashtag na #GlobalKaPalawanAwards2024.
  I-tag ang official Palawan Facebook page @palawan.pawnshop o https://www.facebook.com/palawan.pawnshop/.
  
  STEP 3. Pagka-post ng entry sa Facebook, kailangan nilang i-screenshot ang kanilang post at iupload sa official Google Forms link kasama ang kanilang detalye upang mapatunayan ang entry: https://bit.ly/PalawanOFWAwards
  
  Para naman sa mga magpapasa ng entry sa Palawan Pawnshop branch, kailangan nila ibahagi ang litrato ng kakilalang OFW na nagtatrabaho abroad kasama ang sagot sa tanong na "Anong pinakamakabuluhang nagawa ng kapamilya mong OFW para sa iyong pamilya?" na hindi hihigit ng 2000 words at ang kanilang detalye.
  
  
  Ang mga detalye na hihingin sa Google Forms ay ang mga sumusunod:
• Full Name ng OFW Nominee
• Full Name ng OFW Beneficiary
• Nominator’s Contact Number
• Nominee’s Email Address
• Nominee’s Postal Address
• Nominee’s Permanent Address

5. Determination of Winners
   Deadline of entries is on October 10, 2024, at 11:59 PM.
   
   Isang beses lamang maaaring mag-register ang mga sasali sa promo; multiple entries will be counted as one (1). Only the first entry of multiple entries will be considered valid.
   10 lucky winners ang mananalo ng Php 100,000 cash each. Mga OFW nominees lamang ang pwedeng manalo ng Php 100,000 cash each. Entries will be going through the following selection process as detailed:
   
   (1) Upon closing of nominations, the Palawan Team consolidate entries from the Google forms in an excel sheet. All entries will be verified based on their adherence to nomination guidelines in the mechanics and initial screening guidelines:
   
   (a) The nominator was able to successfully complete their entry via the official Google forms.
   
   (b) The OFW nominee has a record of their remittance being claimed via Palawan Pawnshop branch or the PalawanPay app in 2024 through a backend system generated report.
   
   
   (2) Validated entries will be scored by judges in the presence of a DTI representative via Zoom call on October 15, 2024 based on their answers to the prompt, “Anong pinakamakabuluhang nagawa mo bilang isang OFW para sa iyong pamilya?” or “Ano ang pinaka makabuluhang bagay na ginawa ng kakilalang OFW para sa kanyang pamilya?”
   
   with the following criteria:
   (a) Photo Entry – 40 points
   
   (i) Illustrates the OFW’s life abroad – 20 points
   Photos must showcase OFW's life and work abroad. Photos in his/her workplace can be a selfie, with colleagues, employer. He/She can also include photos with family on video call or on vacation with the OFW.
   
   (ii) Displays spirit of global excellence in OFW duties – 20 points
   OFW is able to clearly show his/her expertise in their field of work and his/her contribution as an effective employee.
   
   
   (b) Cohesive Storytelling – 60 points
   
   (i) OFW’s story relayed in a clear, organized, and original way – 30 points
   Clear story build up from how the OFW started his/her journey until how he/she achieved their own success in a maximum of 2000 words.
   
   (ii) Emotional impact – 30 points
   The story narrates authenticity and love for family and their job.
   
   
   (3) Top 30 entries with the highest marks for their stories and an additional 10 backup as buffer will proceed to screening for eligibility. They will be notified that they have been shortlisted by the Palawan team via e-mail. They will be required to present proof of employment such as a valid company ID or certificate of employment to be screened by the Palawan team, ensuring that the nominees are in fact OFWs by profession and are the OFWs featured in the nomination.
   
   (4) The Top 30 verified finalists will be notified by Palawan that they shall proceed to a final round of recorded interviews with the Palawan team to get more insight on their OFW story. They will be judged according to the criteria below:
   
   (a) OFW story – 50 points
   
   (i) Relevance to the award/campaign – 25 points
   The OFW was able to share details about his life abroad such as how long he/she has been there, what work he/she is doing, and what kind of community she has abroad. The OFW is also able to share some snippets of his life abroad, such as but is not limited to: how gatherings usually happen with fellow Filipinos, celebrations of holidays abroad, or daily life abroad.
   
   (ii) Emotional impact – 25 points
   How authentic/relatable, heartwarming, and memorable the OFWs story is.
   
   (b) OFW achievements – 50 points
   (i) Proof of OFW’s excellence abroad (years at work, awards or recognitions, promotions, responsibilities handled, etc.) – 25 points
   OFW is able to clearly narrate his/her expertise in their field of work and his/her contribution as an effective employee with authentic real-life examples.
   
   
   (ii) Impact of OFW’s achievements to their family in the Philippines – 25 points
   Establishes how Palawan was able to help them extend their support to their families in the Philippines.
   
   (5) Scores from the final interview round will be ranked, and the Top 10 finalists with the highest marks will be identified as the winners of the Global Ka-Palawan Awards promo in the presence of a DTI representative via Zoom call on October 24, 2024. The bottom 20 finalists will be notified that they will receive a consolation prize of Php 10,000 cash each.
   
   Winners will be posted on The Palawan Express Pera Padala Facebook Page and PalaParaang OFWs Facebook Group and will be notified via his/her registered e-mail and postal address for confirmation.
   
   Winners can receive the cash prize through the following options: (1) through international remittance via Palawan Express Pera Padala (PEPP); or (2) deposited via bank account. Winners can opt to have their beneficiaries in the Philippines claim their prize on their behalf provided that they produce an authorization letter signed by the winner authorizing the beneficiary to claim on their behalf. Palawan Express Pera Padala will provide proof of transaction to verify that they have sent the cash prize to the winners.
   
   Prizes are non-transferable. The 20% tax on the prize will be shouldered by Palawan Express Pera Padala. Winners shall receive the exact amount as indicated in the prizes. Winners have a redemption period of 60 days upon receipt of notification to coordinate with Palawan Express Pera Padala and claim their prize otherwise their prize will be forfeited with prior approval of DTI.
