How to Pawn

  1. Visit any Palawan Pawnshop branch.
  2. Present your gold jewelry item to be appraised.
  3. Decide on your pawning amount not exceeding the maximum appraised value of your item.
  4. Fill-out and sign the Information Sheet provided.
  5. Sign the printed pawn ticket. You will receive the original copy of the duplicate pawn ticket.
  6. Count and check the money received from your pawn before leaving the branch.

How to Renew Your Pawn
via Branch

  1. Visit the Palawan Pawnshop branch where you pawned your item.
  2. Sign the back of the pawn ticket at the line labeled “Pawner”.
  3. Present the signed pawn ticket and the payment for the amount due on renewing the item.
  4. Sign the new pawn ticket. You will receive the original copy of the duplicate pawn ticket.
  5. You may opt to renew your item at any Palawan Pawnshop branch for a fee of P15.00.

  1. Click the Pawn Renewal button.
  2. Complete the Pawn Detail Requirements to proceed with Pawn Renewal. Ensure that your details are complete and accurate to continue with the transaction.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Review your payment details. The full detailed computation can be seen by clicking SEE COMPUTATION located below the Total Amount to be Paid.
  5. Review the detailed renewal payment computation. If you agree, click the Renew button.
  6. Read and understand the Pawn Ticket provision thoroughly. If you agree, click I AGREE.
  7. Click Confirm.

Payment Terms:

  1. A corresponding renewal fee of P20.00 per pawn ticket shall be paid by the customer on top of the renewal amount due. 
  2. The fees for online renewal services are payable upon confirmation of the payment. It shall be deducted directly from the PalawanPay account used in the renewal transaction.

  3. Online Renewal customers must conform to the specified agreement before proceeding to the online renewal process.

Online Renewal Requirement:

  1. The Pawner or the Party who may wish to make an online renewal through PalawanPay must input the required details of the pawned item such as
    • Last Name of the Pawner
    • Pawn Ticket Number
    • Suki Card Number
  2. The Pawner or the Party that wishes to make an online renewal transaction through PalawanPay must conform to the agreement as follows.
    • The renewal amount provided and displayed in the PalawanPay application is voluntarily accepted as an amount due for payment
    • The old, signed contract commonly known as a “pawn ticket” shall no longer be valid upon proceeding with the online transaction.
    • A new contract or pawn ticket shall take effect and it shall be available for pick-up by the Pawner at the branch where the item was pawned.
    • That the old, signed contract or pawn ticket shall be surrendered upon release of the new contract.
  3. Important Notice: This Redemption of the pawned jewelry shall be done over the counter at the branch where the item was pawned upon presentation of the contract or “pawn ticket” and valid identification document.

  4. Check the item before leaving the branch.

PALAWAN PAWNSHOP PAWNING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The pawner hereby accepts the pawnshop’s appraisal as proper.
  2. The pawnshop agrees on the interest rates imposed in this contract of pledge. In case of dispute, the regular courts of law have the vested power to determine the reasonableness and legality of interest rates. The pawnshop hereby agrees not to collect advance interest for a period of more than one (1) year.
  3. The service charge is equivalent to one percent (1%) of the principal loan, but shall not exceed five pesos (P5.00). No other charges shall be collected.
  4. This loan is renewable for such amount and period as may be agree upon between the pawnshop and the pawner subject to the same requirements for a new loan.
  5. Upon maturity of this loan, as indicated above, the pawner still has ninety (90) days from maturity date within which to redeem the pawn by paying the principal loan plus the interest that shall have accrued thereon.
  6. The amount of interest due and payable after the maturity date of the loan up to the redemption period shall be computed upon redemption at the rate of interest provided above based on the sum of the principal loan and interest earned as of the date of maturity. Any additional penalty and/or interest shall also be computed in the same manner.
  7. The pawnshop shall notify the pawner of any change in its business address/location through: (1) publication in English and in Filipino or in the local dialect in two (2) daily newspapers of general circulation in the municipality where the pawnshop is closing the business; and (2) posting in English and Filipino or in the local dialect for one (1) month after date publication in a conspicuous place in the premises to be vacated and to be transferred to.
  8. The pawner and the pawnshop agree that the notice of auction sale shall be delivered via [ ] e-mail [ ] SMS [ ] fax or [ ] registered mail or courier at ________________________ (check box of agreed mode and indicate the email address; mobile phone no.; fax no., or complete residential address, as may be appropriate, in the space provided). In case no mode of notification is agreed upon, the default shall be via ordinary mail. The pawnshop shall have the right to sell or dispose of the pawn in public auction if the pawner fails to redeem the pawn within the ninety (90) day grace period. The pawnshop shall send the reminder on or before the expiration of the ninety (90) day grace period.
  9. The pawner shall advise the pawnshop of any change of address/ mobile phone number/e-mail address/fax number.
  10. This ticket shall be surrendered at maturity date upon payment of the loan. In case of loss or destruction of this ticket, the pawner hereby undertakes to personally present an affidavit to the pawnshop before the redemption period expires. The pawnshop has two (2) days to decide whether to accept (1) the affidavit in place of the original pawn ticket; or (2) to issue a substitute pawn ticket, thereby cancelling the original.
  11. In case of pre-payment of this loan by pawner, the interest collected in advance shall accrue in full to the pawnshop.
  12. The pawner shall not be entitled to the excess of the public auction sale price over the amount of principal, interest and service fee; neither shall the pawnshop be entitled to recover the deficiency from the pawner.
  13. The pawner declares under the penalty of the Anti-Fencing Law that he is the owner of the property subject of this contract.
  14. The pawnshop shall exercise reasonable care and caution that an ordinary prudent person would as to his own property over the thing pawned in accordance with Republic Act No. 386 (Civil Code of the Philippines), as amended. Accordingly, the pawnshop shall insure all pawned items, except those which are kept inside a fireproof vault in accordance with the pertinent regulations of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Claims for restitution by pawners in case of loss, destruction or defect of the pawns due to robbery, fire and other fortuitous event, with or without the fault of the pawnshop, its owner, managing partner, directors and officers are cognizable by the regular courts.
  15. The pawnee shall not be liable for the loss or damage of the article pawned due to fortuitous events of force majeure. When the loss is due to the fault and/or negligence of the pawnee, the amount of its liability, if any, shall be limited to the appraised value appearing on the face hereof.
  16. Venue of all judicial and administrative cases or proceedings and other legal incidents arising our of or in connection with this contract shall solely and exclusively be brought before appropriate courts, departments, offices or agencies of the government situated in Puerto Princesa City.
  17. The Authorized representative must present valid identification papers.
  18. For purposes of computing the amount of interest for pledge loans paid after maturity date, a fraction of the original terms of the loan agreed upon as indicated at the face of the pawn ticket shall be considered as one full term.
  19. In case this loan is not paid on maturity date, the pawner hereby agrees to pay in addition to accrued interest, 2 percent per month of the principal, as liquidated damages. For purposes of computing the amount of liquidated damages, a fraction of the original term of the loan agreed upon as indicated at the face of the pawn ticket shall be considered as one full term. The Pawnshop may, at its sole option, allow redemption of pawn after expiration of the 90-day grace period upon payment by the pawner of the loan principal plus interest due and liquidated damages at the rates and manner of computation herein prescribed.

PALAWAN PAWNSHOP (“PPS”) AUCTION AND JEWELRY SALES TERMS AND CONDITIONS

DEFINITION OF TERMS

  • Gold Jewelry for Sale is an ornament made of gold, either plain or studded with diamonds or gems that are available for sale on select Palawan Pawnshop branches nationwide and on its official sales channels.
  • Palawan Gold Item is a reprocessed rematado gold.
  • Rematado Item is a foreclosed jewelry item taken from PPS’s pawning business.
  • Auction Item means a jewelry foreclosed item approved by PPS to be included in its auction sale pursuant to PD 114 as part of compliance to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas regulations.
  • Bili-Sangla is a scheme offered to a customer who desires to buy a Rematado Item but does not have enough cash to acquire it. The item shall be treated as collateral, subject to the 1% interest rate for the first month only. Regular interest rates shall be applied in the following months of pawning with interest computation based on the Palawan Pawnshop’s customers’ choice package.
  • Lay Away is an installment payment plan available for Rematado Items and Palawan Gold items subject to Lay Away Plan terms and conditions.

COMPLIANCE WITH ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING AND TERRORISM FINANCING PREVENTION (AML-TFP) RULES. All jewelry sales transactions are subject to Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Prevention (AML-TFP) laws and Jewelry Sales policies. As part of KYC, customers must complete a Customer Information Sheet (CIS) and provide a valid ID. A photograph of the customer and their ID will be taken. Customers involved in significant transactions may be asked additional questions and required to present further documents.

PPS employees reserve the right to refuse any jewelry sale transactions that may violate AML-TFP laws or any other applicable regulations. They will not be held liable for such refusals.

AVAILABILITY OF JEWELRY ITEMS FOR SALE. Jewelry items that are available for sale are posted on official social media or e-commerce platforms

(e.g., Palawan Pawnshop Jewelry, PalawanPay, etc.) and are displayed in showcases on selected PPS branches and stores nationwide during business or jewelry display hours.

AGE RESTRICTION. Jewelry items are available for purchase by buyers of all age groups. However, for minor buyers, their parental or guardian consent is required. The parents and/or guardians are also required to undergo the KYC procedure for proper identification.

AUTHORIZATION. If the buyer or beneficial owner has appointed an authorized representative to purchase jewelry on its or his/her behalf, the authorized representatives must accept the terms and conditions. A notarized Special Power of Attorney (SPA) is required to be presented.

TYPE OF PURCHASE. A customer may avail jewelry items through (1) Direct purchase, (2) bili-sangla scheme for Rematado and Palawan Gold items, or (3) lay-away plan for Rematado and Palawan Gold items.

PAYMENT OPTIONS. Any customer may purchase an item online or in PPS branches or store by (1) Paying in Cash, (2) through PalawanPay QRs / other e-wallet, (3) via Bank Transfer for online transactions, or (4) Use credit card in selected branches and stores.

PAYMENT FOR PURCHASE. Payment for jewelry items shall be in Philippine Pesos only.

RETURNS AND REPLACEMENTS. This transaction is on an “as is where is” basis. It means that the buyer accepts the item in its current state or condition at the time of purchase. Online shoppers are reminded to manage their expectations. Since Rematado items are secondhand jewelry items, photos posted, and actual items may vary due to lighting and enhancements. No return or replacement shall be made.

AFTER SALES SERVICE. PPS shall not provide after-sale service or be held liable in any form for deformity and other defects once the transaction has been completed and the item was taken out of the branch/store.

A one-time courtesy cleaning service is applicable for all Palawan Gold bars sold, as outlined in the Palawan Gold waiver.

CUSTOMER RELATIONS. Complaints regarding this jewelry sales transaction must be submitted in writing and received by the concerned branch/store or emailed to customercare@palawanpawnshop.com within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of transaction. Any complaints after the said period shall not be accommodated.

DATA PRIVACY. The customer/buyer allows the PPS to collect and process his or her personal data for auction/jewelry sale transactions. In compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, the PPS processes their personal data for the primary purpose of jewelry sales transactions. However, each buyer is advised that PPS may also process his/her personal data to investigate suspected fraudulent transactions and other unlawful activities. This may sometimes require the sharing, transfer, or disclosure of his/her personal data to regulators like Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, law enforcement authorities, and the like as determined by PPS.

VENUE OF LITIGATION. All claims or suits regarding this transaction shall be filed in the courts of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan only, to the exclusion of all other courts.

AMENDMENTS. PPS reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without prior notice.

EFFECTIVITY DATE. These new Terms and Conditions shall take effect on April 1, 2025.
